Pretty in pink
I've never been a huge fan of pink (not that you'd know that by looking at my blog header!) but I just couldn't resist these 1950's bubblegum pink Pyrex mixing bowls. Lovely! Find them at Up Home.

Hello Olive must have
I have been completely obsessed with Enzo Mari's La Mela Modern Poster lately. I want it. A lot! Pity about the $480 price tag. Think I can convince Husband that if he buys me this he never ever has to buy me another birthday pressie again? Oh, and did I mention there also a giant pear version? I'll have that for Christmas, thanks :-) Find them here.

London, New York, Paris
What would your super power be? I'd love to be able to teleport. Then I could revisit these great cities without the hassles of airports, queues and long haul flights :-) So since I haven't quite mastered teleportation (yet) I'll just admire these city-themed posters by Blanca Gomez instead. Find them at Poster Cabaret.

An apple a day
I created this Etsy Treasury in honour of my Apple Spice Cake which didn't turn out quite as yummy as I'd hoped. I forgot to add something right at the beginning (I added it later) and while it's not awful, it doesn't seem as tasty as it usually is. Here's a sneak peak from my treasury below. To see the rest of it, click here.

The cutest little dress
Sometimes I wish they made kids' clothes in grown up sizes, like this lovely Mu & Me dress. My friend is having a little girl soon so I got her this as a wee gift. I love the floral print and bird combination.
You can see more Mu & Me goodies here but unfortunately the website hasn't been updated with the clothes yet. Take my word for it though, they're fab :-)

I've been baking
The Toddler and (mostly) I whipped up these banana muffins this morning. I really have to stop buying bananas in the summertime as they last about 2 seconds before they're overripe. Not the most exciting muffins to look at but they're delish with a cuppa and since they aren't loaded with sugar they're fine for the little people too :-) This recipe is from my mum-in-law so see below for instructions if you're in a baking mood!
Banana muffins
500ml flour
10ml baking powder
2ml bicarbonate of soda
2ml salt
50ml sugar (I sometimes use 65ml when I want them sweeter)
2 eggs, beaten
50ml melted butter
50ml milk
500ml mashed banana (I used about 5 medium sized ones)
Mix together the dry ingredients. Whisk the eggs, butter, milk and banana together. Mix with the dry ingredients until all traces of the flour have disappeared. (Do not overmix even if the mixture looks lumpy.)
Spoon into greased muffin tins (2/3 full) and bake for 35 minutes* at 180 degrees C. Yields 16-20 muffins.
(Mine are a bit overdone - I think 25 - 30 minutes will do). Enjoy!

My Sunday

Have you read...
...The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern? It had me totally gripped! A very imaginative story about a circus that arrives without warning, is open only at night and is constructed entirely in black and white... Loved it! And it doesn't hurt that it has a fabulous cover design too :-)
