The Brightest Star in the Sky

I'll read pretty much anything except science fiction and horror (oh ok, and fantasy), and I have been absolutely hooked on The Brightest Star in the Sky by Marian Keyes. A real page turner (and I like the cover too!). See synopsis below.

June the first, a bright summer's evening, a Monday ...
And into the busy, bustling homes at 66 Star Street slips, unseen, a mysterious visitor. As the couples, flatmates and repentant singletons of No 66 fall in and out of love, clutch at and drop secrets, laugh, cry and simply try to live, no one suspects the visitor patiently waiting in the wings. For soon, really very soon, everything is going to change...

Tea time

Brrr, it's a bit cold and miserable today so I've been drinking loads of tea to warm up. Pity I have no cakes to accompany said cups of tea...

Love love love. Part two.

I read about James Gulliver Hancock's blog in the KLM inflight magazine of all places. According to his blog, James, an illustrator originally from Australia currently based in Brooklyn, is attempting to draw all the buildings in the New York. And doing a splendid job too! Find his blog here and check out his shop here.

Love love love. Part one.

I've been just a little bit smitten with these delicious new colours in Skinny Laminx's Eep! range. I think I may be adding to my cushion collection soon :-) See more here. Also, for those of you in Cape Town, check out the Winter Sale of lovely goodies by Missibaba, Queen Magpie, Moonbasket, Fabric and Skinny laMinx at The Palms, Woodstock, this Saturday 25 June. Chevrons + bag = lovely

The chevron graphic has been trending for a while now, and while I don't dislike it, it hasn't really excited me. That is, until I saw these divine Virginia Johnson bags over on the Lanalou Style blog. Fabulous! Find them here and check out Lana's blog here for more chevron inpiration.

Happy Monday

Well, we're back from our wee holiday. We had a fab time but as much as I love Edinburgh, I'm really pleased to be back home. (It helps that, despite the fact that it's winter here in CT, it's sunny and warm.) I'm feeling rather cheerful, just like these cards by Henri Hopper...

Ooh, the Sweet Paul Magazine summer edition is out today and it's fab as usual! There's lots of lovely photography, crafts and recipes. Yum, the food all looks delish - I really shouldn't read it when I'm hungry... See more here.

I heart sunny seaside Friday

Wow, such a beautiful sunny day in Edinburgh today. The toddler and I got to spend it on the beach with some friends. Bliss!
